Welcome to Musings!
I dedicate this blog to Momus. I honor his presence with gratitude and acknowledge his power. Read the full Dedication here.
As well as giving the god his due (because his pointed humor needs a forum) I also keep track of the things I've learned in my quest to dig myself out of unhealthy ruts and find a way to live my best life (all kept here for easy access when I need reminders to keep me moving in the right direction) (cuz wow is it easy to fall back into unhealthy patterns).
Who is Momus? My patron originally inhabited the Greek pantheon as the god of satire, fearless criticism and (the connection I feel deepest) irony. To learn more about Momus, read the full article here.
Why Momus? Why has irony become my North Star? Read the story here.
What exactly IS irony anyway? Read my take on it here.
I deplore many of the uses AI is being put to in the modern world, and fear many of its applications and implications. I don't take using AI lightly.
I use art drawings generated on openart.ai to illustrate my blog because that is a best use for AI in my opinion: it doesn't take any work away from a real artist (I wouldn't hire an artist to illustrate something that is purely for my own shits and giggles - I do not promote or monetize my website) and it saves me from pirating art from elsewhere to illustrate my posts.
I am not able to execute my visions otherwise (drawing is so not my thing) - and it has been a hell of a lot of fun seeing those visions get turned from a prompt into an illustration. But always I clearly attribute when AI has been used in the creation.
The photography throughout my website is my own. But the dragon drawings and illustrative art are courtesy of openart.ai.
But only to help the site load faster for you and to analyze website traffic for my personal shits and giggles. I won't use or sell your data. (As if I'd even know what to do with it LOL.) (Although, fair warning, I am using Google Analytics and GoDaddy, so... I can't make promises about what they do with it all >.>)
